MONASTERBOICE INN WINS SUSTAINABLE ENERGY AWARD

The SFA awards celebrate the achievements of small business in Ireland and recognise the vital contribution of the sector to the Irish economy. The winners were selected from hundreds of applications received for the 2019 programme.

The SFA (Small Firms Association) represents small businesses with 50 or less employees, spanning every sector of the Irish economy. It supports entrepreneurship, values small businesses and rewards risk takers. Its mission is to be the trusted partner of small businesses in Ireland, to deliver business-focused advice and insights to member companies, influence government policy to the benefit of small businesses and connect its members in a thriving community.

The project at Monasterboice Inn comprised of extending the existing dining facilities, forming a new reception area, and creating additional function spaces which will cater for the growing demand and celebration of special occasions. The new Olivia Macken Suite extends and enhances the existing facilities, provided by the Donegan family, which have long served Monasterboice and the surrounding areas.

McKevitt King Architects were delighted to be involved in such an important local project, working alongside Thorne Sarsfield Quantity Surveyors, Doherty Finegan Kelly Consulting Engineers, and Glenn Nunan Consulting Engineers. C.F. Hoey Construction Ltd were the main contractor supported by a team of local subcontractors.
