A change of scenery….

Over a month ago 13 of us came to work every week and sat at our desks in the office at 50 North Road. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we are now all sitting at our desks at home. At first it took us all some time to adjust our new environments, but efficiency and production are now as good as before, if not better. Some of the team were more prepared than others with proper home offices already in-situ, whereas others had to scramble to make arrangements…… bedrooms converted, desks assembled, kitchen tables cleared, etc.

Balancing work at home (with children) can be a challenge. However we are all fully equipped; we each have our full suite of software, have remote access to all our project files on the server, can print remotely, use MS Teams & Skype to have staff/client meetings, access our email, and respond to calls to the normal landline phone number.

Our on-site construction projects have been temporarily suspended until current restrictions are lifted, but all other projects continue at momentum. Projects at design, planning permission, and tender stage are all progressing effectively unaffected.

Working from home is proving to be such a success that it may very well play a meaningful part in the future of the office.
