DKIT Architectural Technology Course

In recent years McKevitt King Architects have had the pleasure of facilitating some DKIT students on their work placement as part of the BSc (Hons) in Architectural Technology course. This is a four-year degree course aiming to provide each student with the education and training necessary for entry into the construction and property industry as a professional Architectural Technologist.

Dundalk Institute of Technology attract students from all over the country and beyond, but we have been able to accommodate some of the more local students from Drogheda on their 12-week placements. Currently Andy Magilton is with us till December. In recent years we have had others such as Aaron Stone and David Beirth spend time with us.

As described in the course programme, “Work placement is a key element of a student’s learning experience. Experiential learning is recognised as one of the most successful way of embedding knowledge, skills and values. Alongside a body of theoretical knowledge and professional skill-sets, each student brings to the placement setting their own personal attributes.”
