LOVE DROGHEDA is a Business Improvement District that was set up to help make Drogheda a great place to live, work and socialise. The success of Drogheda’s Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann in 2018 and 2019 brought about a new impetus and enthusiasm from local businesses, organisations and community groups to create the BID. LOVE DROGHEDA began operating in 2020 undertaking numerous projects and initiatives that support the local economy, enrich tourism and expand cultural experiences in and around Drogheda. These include erection of festoon lighting at St. Mary’s bridge on the River Boyne, installation of parklets on the main streets and the formation of a conceptual road map for urban art and walking trails. In January 2021 Adrian King joined the group as a board member. Since Adrian joined the team, he has been involved on a variety of projects including undertaking street audits and urban assessments, putting forward proposals for public realm projects and many other interesting initiatives such as a public lighting strategy for some of Drogheda’s key landmarks.
