'The proponents of LoveDrogheda believe that the future prosperity and well being of Drogheda City is very much dependent on the ability of its people to work together. Many of the projects we are proposing are dependent on groups of people in Drogheda coming together and collaborating.
It is a proven fact that towns and cities that collaborate, are economically and socially vibrant, attract inward investment and funding, are progressive and places that people want to make home.
Many of the projects proposed will involve the BID company and rate payers working together with many organisations in Drogheda and collaborating to make the projects happen. This means conducting business in a positive, respectful and constructive manner.
Launched in 2020, the Love Drogheda Gift Card Programme has been one of our most successful projects, with both businesses and the public getting behind the gift card and investing in it. Designed to keep “Think Local, Shop Local” at the forefront of the publics mind, the card ensures that local spending stay local. With 0% commission to businesses and no sign-up fees it is the easiest way that you can support your local economy. The Love Drogheda GiftCard currently has over 240 businesses signed-up to accept it, covering everything from retail, restaurants and cafes to personal services and attractions. Since it’s launch Love Drogheda BIDS have launched several awareness campaigns to highlight the effectiveness of the Love Drogheda GiftCard and the potential it has for our local community. We know that since the Gift Card went live there has been close to €250,000 worth of gift cards purchased, which means that the money has stayed in our local economy. We also ensure that the Love Drogheda Gift Card is listed as the prize for any competitions that we run on our social media channels.'
