The office building was very recently fitted with Photovoltaic Panels. Fourteen panels were fitted, split between two separate roofs, one with an easterly orientation and the other with a southerly orientation. We are very excited to see the panels in operation and generate electricity for the office, particularly in these times of increased energy costs. With all the equipment that is required for a modern day architectural office: server, PCs, printers, plotters, etc. there is a heavy demand on electricity. The PV panels are a green way to generate power, thus helping the office make a contribution to the environment. Already we can see the noticeable difference the panels are making – with the use of an app (www.solarmanpv.com) connected to the PV system we can monitor output (current, daily, monthly generation).
The installation was carried out by Lennon Solar: https://lennon.ie/solar-pv/. A very smooth and professional installation all carried out within one day. A great job by Bernard, Aidan and their team.
In addition to the new panels we also had a ‘Zappi’ EV charger fitted. This is fully compatible with the PV panels, and has different modes for mains feed, PV direct feed, or PV surplus feed. In the near future we hope to see more electric vehicles being used by the office staff, who can avail of this facility.
