Svitlana Demenko is currently studying Furniture Design and Manufacture in Drogheda Institute of Further Education. As part of this programme she was required to complete an industry-based work experience placement, which she completed In McKevitt King Architects every Friday for the last 10 weeks.

As part of her course, Svitlana studies subjects such as architectural drawing, AutoCAD, design skills, wood turning, veneering, marquetry and furniture making. She is finding the course very interesting and is particularly enjoying the architectural drawing and AutoCAD parts of the programme. She has even started to consider third level education in an architecture-related area. Svitlana was very happy that McKevitt King Architects gave her an internship as it was a great opportunity for her to gain new knowledge and experience in AutoCAD. It has also given her an excellent insight into the work of an architectural office.

We would like to wish Svitlana all the best in her future studies and perhaps some day she will return to us as an architect.
