MMM Archive Planning Granted

We are delighted to have recently been granted planning for an archive building for Medical Missionaries of Mary in Drogheda. The development will consist of a single storey stand-alone archive building located on the east side of the existing convent and to the west of the existing Aras Mhuire building. The new building will comprise an archive, photograph & media storage, archivist’s workspace, kitchenette, washroom, plant and comms rooms and a small exhibition room. The works will include the reconfiguration of the existing car park, new paths, landscaping, drainage and all associated site works. The proposed building will house the existing archives, storage, offices and ancillary facilities to maintain the current collection and accommodate anticipated growth as well as allowing continuing research access by both MMM and researchers. The existing archives will be relocated from their current location on the third floor of the Guest Block building, which is intended to be repurposed and developed as a hospice.
