A contemporary house on a spectacular site overlooking the countryside of Co. Louth with views across the Irish Sea to the Cooley and Mourne Mountains. The layout of the house is cranked on the plan which creates a dynamic entrance point to the dwelling. The dwelling is single storey and incorporates blocks with varying roofs linked together by a flat roof. The roof pitches follow the line of the site and respond to its sloping nature. South light enters the spaces at high level allowing excellent levels of daylight to enter the main living spaces and hallway. A simple palette of materials is used comprising of render, stone and natural slates for the pitched roofs with metal (zinc) for the mono-pitch roofs.
