Sitting on a lengthy plot the original cottage has been extended and remodelled to take advantage of the large garden and southern aspect. The front door has been relocated from the front of the house to a sheltered enclosure accessed from the side. Thoughtful hard landscaping directs the approach to the entrance which is further enhanced with a cedar clad canopy. The main living space is an open plan arrangement that houses the kitchen, dining and living under a lofty vaulted ceiling. A dual aspect space with large windows to the front and sliding doors to the rear it is further complimented with sizeable roof-lights above. Automated canopies to the rear patio and automated blinds on the roof-lights help control the extent of solar gain in the summer months. The kitchen/dining/living opens out onto a spacious patio to the rear which in turn connects with the lawn area. The master bedroom looks out across the garden and enjoys the southern sunlight. The floor plan is all stitched together with a wide and bright corridor that runs through the centre of the house, framed at the end with a picture window and seat where the original front door was once situated. The renovated house is finished with contemporary kitchen, furniture and fittings to give it a very fresh feeling. The new design completely changes orientation, access and views, and makes it unrecognisable from the original cottage that preceded it.
