Occupying an infill site on the Golf Links Rd, this house stitches into the established line of housing facing the golf course and dunes of Bettystown. With commanding views and morning sun to the east, the house enjoys privacy and afternoon/evening light to the rear. The central circulation area is bright and spacious, enhanced with natural light from a large staircase window and large central rooflight – the light flooding down the white walls and open tread staircase. These internal spaces benefit from the detail of oak finishes used throughout: feature wall, stairs, flooring.

The ground floor open plan is large and uninterrupted with floor to ceiling doors internally and externally, allowing the interior to flow out into the back patio & garden. Durawood is used externally to bring a vibrancy in contrast to the light coloured plaster finish and palette of grey in the windows, rainwater goods and pressed metalwork. The rear patio is partially covered with a deep canopy clad in Durawood and standing-seam pressed metal, providing solar shading to the inside and a rain cover for the outside. Using a combination of flat roof, pitched roof and recesses, the spans are visually reduced and the overall mass apportioned. The connection with the seaside is more than a visual link, with sand coloured porcelain tiles, and maritime blue front door.
