This is a new function room extension to a long-established bar and restaurant business in Monasterboice, Co Louth. The design and layout of the overall scheme is strongly influenced by Bawntaffe House and adjoining farm buildings which are now part of an enclosed courtyard with the new function room. The function room enjoys light and views out into this courtyard area through a large picture window. Located to the rear of the established restaurant the new extension also includes a large reception area with new entrance. The reception area acts as a transitional and entrance space between the existing dining area and the new function room and external spaces, also doubling up as a comfortable seating area around an open fire.
