The practice was originally set up in 1973 by Turlough McKevitt in partnership with Bernard O’Reilly, practicing on Laurence Street under the title ‘McKevitt O’Reilly’. Sadly Bernard passed away due to a tragic boating accident in their very first year in business. The practice name changed to ‘T McKevitt Architect’ and relocated to Magdalene Street, all the time building its reputation and expanding its client base. In 1978 the office moved to its current location on the North Road. Briefly titled ‘McKevitt Associates’ in the 1990s, the practice became ‘McKevitt Architects’ in 1997 and was led by Turlough and James McKevitt. In 2019 Adrian King became a director and the practice was reborn as ‘McKevitt King Architects’. With James McKevitt MRIAI and Adrian King MRIAI now leading the practice, they are backed up with the vast experience of Turlough McKevitt FRIAI and Jim MacArdle MCIAT. In addition to this, they are supported by associates Dyanne Tuite MRIAI and Emma Kennedy MRIAI Arch. Tech. and an experienced team within the office. McKevitt King Architects is a design-driven practice with the belief that every successful project is anchored with high quality design. We strive to listen to and understand our clients and their requirements - this is achieved through accessibility and communication. We pride ourselves on our ability to successfully deliver projects through a complete involvement at each stage.
